All are welcome, and I will just add to that post by saying that anyone interested should join the in-game channel "redversusblue" and have a chat with members. Find out which side needs members in your timezone before applying, that way you will get better fights.
We are all having a blast, and the more people who join in the better!

Edited by: Tron Sarkus on 27/01/2008 11:13:56 Glad that there has been such a positive reaction to the idea.
As Plave said, there are no actual fees for the war declarations, as we have made it mutual. We do have a war bounties forum on our main site (register to see it, link in my sig) where members can post bounties on each other, the CEOs also occasionally post bounties, there is still one going for Plave's pod if anyone wants to claim it :P
I am currently training up a proper combat character to join with, as Tron is pretty much carebear through and through.
The idea is really starting to kick off now though, and like Plave mentioned, we are going to need to start training corp management skills pretty soon! Get in while you can (although we will get around this, don't worry)!
Originally by: Bimjo oooh , vet here , but a noob alt will be joining red Vs blue soon would like to join the corp with lower members, as we are in downtime , which has less members currently?
I would recommend that you join our public channel "redversusblue" and just hang out to see which side needs members in your time-zone. If you make the wrong decision, it's easy to change corps if needed, no-one gets any roles so you can leave with no notice.

Originally by: Meirre K'Tun awesome idea, will join with an alt later :D
how does the no rules thing work out? i think if someone would come there with a vaga or some other t2 cruiser, he would pretty much own the field.
but i will see :D
*charging lasers*
We have lots of people in t2 ships, and battleships etc. We leave it up to the teams to decide what they want to fly (and lose). When we were creating the idea, we discussed whether we should have rules or not and decided that this way is more fun for the majority of people. Also, there is nothing to stop "gentlemen's agreements" before fights.
Also, we do have a proper recruitment thread here but one of our members took it upon himself to say how much fun he was having, no harm in that surely?

Originally by: Vivitari Now the question is, did you get this idea from the month/2month long Red vrs Blue EVE-Radio held about 3/4 months ago?
Its not a new idea, nor is it unique, however if you keep it going longer than ER did before it dried up (2 months or so) I will be very pleased.
No I didn't get the idea from that. I have been told about it now though. It was first brought up in this thread and after I saw how many people were interested and Plave offered to run it with me we just got the ball rolling.
Our aim is to recreate the fun people had with privateers, without being nerfed for exploiting war mechanics. The corp names were just the obvious choice - although they were very nearly "Shirts versus Skins".

Originally by: VicturusTeSaluto Nice idea.
Time to make an alt w/ alt corp and war dec red & blue
Do it! We had one corp wardec us both already, but they vanished after a week (think it was just too much traveling for them)
You might find Red and Blue liable to team up on agressers though :P

Wait.....people need reasons to shoot at each other now?
Not real reasons. Read the thread
We just wanted to set the scene for comedy smack between the corps.
To be honest, the feel of RvB is one big corp, half of which just happen to like shooting the other half.

Originally by: Grimm Myn lol, awesome idea to be honest.
I know no real rules exist but it might be an idea to limit the SP at some point in time, i mean some nber SP millionaire could come in with 1 ship and wipe out the field, no?
Count my alt in, if i ever get there
We discussed this at some length, but there will never be any official rules for RvB. We are mainly based in Highsec atm, so capitals are out (unless Cribba gets involved if we move to Amarr...) so the biggest ship anyone could have is a BS. If people want to pimp out a BS that's fine. No-one is invincible.
We already have vets with 50+ million SP in the both corps so we can cater for all players.

Originally by: Bob Stuart Blue has a small advantage, in that using default colours on overview, reds would show up as reds, although blues would appear as greens. Whereas, for the reds, blues would appear as reds, although reds would also appear as greens.
I.e. If you're blue, reds are reds, and blues are greens. If you're red, blues are reds, and reds are greens.
That post hurts my brain.
Its true though - this is why Blue are destined to be on top.

Originally by: Yakia TovilToba Nice idea this is, looking forward to some fun with my kessy of doom. Tron, you mind come online and accept applications ? Applied after dt and want finally start to pew pew
Can't get in game right now sorry, I might be online later, but there are plenty of other people who should be able to let you in. We are trying to get as many people with recruitment roles as possible in each timezone - so people can get in whenever.
Just ask in the public channel, some Reds have alts in blue who can let you in as well.

Bravo, Gentlemen, on your marvelous idea.
So don't go back? Lots of people are joining in with their mains now.

Originally by: Nethers What is your stance on inactivity?
If you know you are going to be inactive for a while, it would be better to leave the corp while you are gone - to free up space for others.
While we don't have a particular rule on activity levels, if spaces are short and we see people haven't logged on in a while - they will be in danger of being replaced (nothing to stop them applying again when corp limits are up again).
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for such enthusiasm in RvB's first weeks. Plave and I saw its potential, but had no idea that it would kick off quite so well. We couldn't do it without you!
I am away from game for a week or so now, I can't wait to see what has happened when I return!

Edited by: Tron Sarkus on 03/02/2008 14:43:44 now that the corp numbers are up we are ready to welcome many more players into RvB! Blue could do with a few more experienced FCs as I am a bit of a noob when it comes to things like that compared to Plave. Red cannot be allowed this advantage!
I am really looking forward to getting back into game (moving house) and joining in again soon.

And that makes it less fun how? Of course it isn't original - its just a war. If you want to whinge about how it isn't 100% the newest idea ever then don't join in.
Also, you fail at linking your sig image.

Blue is blatantly the better side
I keep trying to answer questions on this thread but the Eve-O Forums very rarely let me actually post anything :(
At least Plave can post.
